Buy farmland in England and Wales

Titles the register describes as farms and agricultural land held by companies: from single fields to whole holdings. 370 of them are currently owned by companies in insolvency, where an appointed office holder has a statutory duty to realise assets.

45,991registered titles

Corporate-owned titles the register itself describes as farmland, counted 1 September 2026. Nothing here is for sale and no owner has asked to be listed.

What the register tells you

Each title carries its HM Land Registry title number, the registered owner and the owner's Companies House record, which Land44 checks live when you open a report: current status, registered office, filings from the last six months, directors on record. Where the owner is dissolved or in an insolvency process, that is stated with what the law does next, never a guess at what anyone wants.

Questions your advisers will ask

None of these are on the face of a search result, some are not on the register at all, and all of them belong to your own diligence with a solicitor and surveyor.

How to search

Search free: pick a district, set Land type to farmland, and see what exists before spending anything. A full report on one site is £9, five are £29, and daily access is £149 per month, VAT inclusive. Reports may not be used for direct marketing, including unsolicited offers to purchase land: an HM Land Registry licence condition and a condition of our terms.
